Backyard gardening has always excited her. Her and her fiance, Ben, rent housing in San Diego and move every few years so have not been able to establish mature gardens. Their current garden is actually the second backyard garden they have tended as they work to save up money to buy their own home to grow food in a sustainable, organic way.
Gardening is a small-scale version of his long-term goal of living in a way that will allow him to grow enough food to support his family – organically. Ben helps maintain the garden and uses the fresh grown edibles in his daily cooking.
